Jen's Next Steps on Road to Recovery.....

Hi Angels, Well the Dr came this morning and told Jen and Will that the results were not as good as we had hoped for. The cancer is aggressive and while they got everything in the breast, it had already spread to more of the lymph nodes than hoped. The outlook is still good and this is treatable but the treatment will be complex. Jen is waiting for a visit from the oncologist for more details. Jen will be home this afternoon and is looking forward to quality time with Will and the girls. Meanwhile, the organizing committee has been expanded to include.... Chief of Planning - Mon Ridley. If you want to help out, please let Mon know via mridley@urbis.com.au Master Builder. - Maryanne of course! She is flogging the tradesmen to get Jen and Wills's Reno finished. Jen is grateful for all your well wishes and is looking forward to your company as she beats this bugger. Keep up the prayers and messages,of love. Thank you all Cathy

  1. Dear Jen - there is SO MUCH inspiration out there and SO MANY strong women who have young kids and jobs and demanding husbands, AND are battling what you are battling. First and foremonst, you are NOT alone (not even if you bloody wished to be)!!!
Clare Sugars (my godmother Sheelah's daughter) was diagnosed with Stage IV at 28 years of age. They gave her ONE year to live and that was 12 years ago!!!! Her sister Danielle, was so inspired by Clare's battle that she became a breast surgeon and today works through Tweed Heads Hospital (if you ever wanted a second opinion). The website and support available on chat worldwide is amazing - also has good tips on how to be a good friend to you. One of the best stories I read was: http://www.bcna.org.au/sharing-support/personal-stories/family-and-friends/jils-angels
Good for me and the rest of the Angels!
The breakthroughs in medicine annually are astounding too, so there is so much to hope for and so many places to turn to when you take a dip. Love and kisses, Meggie xoxoxoxoxo

  3. Big hug for Jen and all the family/ies. Don't worry, we don't stop praying!

A good story I know of is a girl about our age who lives in Rozelle, was diagnosed with breast cancer when her daughter was 2. She had some surgery and intensive chemo and is as far as I know all good. She even fell pregnant again accidently which apparently is quite unusual after chemo.

Thanks for all the updates, I'm sure everyone would agree we feel not quite so helpless at least by knowing where things are up to.
I thought of organising some nice meals through thedinnerladies.com in Balmain but I'll email Mon about that in case the freezer's already full.

    Thinking of you all

  5. Hi Little Jenny,

How lovely that Will , thought it was a good idea to bring Heide and Amber for see you. Just think, maybe tomorrow, you may be back in your apartment, and if you are anything like Maryanne, you will be able “to visit” your home, and check to see if the tradies are/have/done/doing their jobs as per Will’s and your satisfaction.

Lukey, turns 5 yrs old on the 8th Oct., and I sent him a card, with the big amount of $5.00 in the card. Also, I bought a Neiman Marcus black dress for Meggie, for her 40th., but could not wait until next month to send it to her. So to-day, I had a message on my answering machine from Lucas, thanking me the for the card and the BIG $5.00 bill. Meggie, said that she had the dress on, as she was talking to me, and said that she “LOVES “ the dress. As the Texans say, I hope Meggie is not “snowing me”.

I have a lovely gift for you for your 40th.

    Love you lots Jenny,

    Kay
